From: rbeville@tekig5.pen.tek.com (also posted to rec.autos....) I intend to restore a 1964 M151 1/4 ton 4X4 utility truck ("JEEP") It has a cloudy title, stating it is a FORD. The vehicle was privatized by an earlier owner and doesn't have the military data plates across the dash. Comparing the "BUDD # ...." on the engine compartment fire wall with another member of the Military Vehicle Collector's Club, I am one serial number less than his-- He's had his M151 registered as a 1964 Kaiser.... The FORD titling may have arisen because there is an Autolite voltage regulator and waterproof distributor on it.(both) There are no "Script F"s on the body or engine like you see on a WW2 FORD GPW Jeep. I have the M151 TM operator's manual and the TM-9 motor pool book, but of course they are sterile as to brand names. Correct documentation will greatly enhance the restoration value. Can any one give me some leads about how to establish the Kaiser authenticity?... by email, I'm sure... that's -OWARI- from GLOWWORM-7-9-4 best regards, rbeville@tekig5.PEN.TEK.COM Bob Beville, Tektronix, Inc., Beaverton, OR 97077
