From: dthompso@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu (David G Thompson) There have been a number of postings regarding the Gurkhas recently, many of which include disclaimers about incomplete familiarity with the subject. I'm no expert either, but I would like to suggest two books which might satisfy some people's remaining curiosity: Bolt, David. _Gurkhas_, Pageant of History Series. New York: Delacorte Press, 1967. Masters, John. _The Road Past Mandalay_. Great Britain: Michael Joseph Ltd., 1961 (repr. Bantam, 1979). Both authors served as officers with Gurkha regiments in the Indian Army. Masters also wrote _Bugles and a Tiger_, an account of his experiences *prior* to W.W.II, which I have not read but probably is interesting. -- David G.
