From: "USENET News System" <news@unix.cis.pitt.edu> I don't remember seeing anything in the White Paper about the Great SCUD Hunt. (It was a long article, I could have missed it.) This week's Aviation Week quotes Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Arens as saying, "To the best of my knowledge, not a single mobile missle launcher was found and destroyed from the air." The article further states that launchers were destroyed by special ground forces. (Page 26, June 24, 1991) This White Paper reads more like a marketing statement for the USAF than a dispassionate discussion of what worked and what didn't. I'm concerned that if this attitude permeates the military, the reports from the next war will not be as glowing. Harry Bloomberg hpb@vms.cis.pitt.edu
