O.k. this is it, the last time of asking............has anybody out there used either the Bristol Groups' Isofax Fax package or Perfect Bytes Faxmodem 9600/Perfect fax system? We have been carrying out a survey of available fax products and have reduced the list of packages which seem to fulfil our requirements to these two. I would therefore be extremely grateful if people who have used either package could send me a short note to let me know their experiences of the package, any problems they may have had etc. If you can help please do, don't think somebody else will answer....(I have only had one response to previous posting's of this sort) so go on....... convince me I am not just talking to myself. We have Perfect Bytes Faxmodem, and we have found getting it to work
to be a headache. The mail confirmation of fax sending broke under
4.0.3 (works under 4.1) because of a sun mail bug. The options are
determined by sunview .defaults rather than a global startup file. We
had to write our own plain tty sendfax and .forward files for incoming
and outgoing faxes. It works now, but we must have spent 100 hours
getting it going.
