This time around, they won't be changing the car's name from "Golf" to "Rabbit" when it's sold in the U.S. The "new car" they'll be making is just the second-generation Golf/Rabbit. (Sort of like the second- and third- generation Audi 100 being sold as the Audi 5000 in the U.S., because the first-generation model, I'm told, didn't enjoy such a great reputation.)
