kristoff@NET.BIO.NET (Dave Kristofferson) (12/18/88)
Greetings and Happy Holidays! I have just returned from the Santa Fe conference on molecular biology computing where I enlisted the help of Tom Marr from the Human Genome Information Resource at Los Alamos and Clay Stephens of the Human Gene Mapping Library at Yale to co-moderate the GENOMIC-ORGANIZATION bboard. In light of the expanding interest in the human genome project this is a particularly timely topic and both Tom and Clay are well-qualified in this area. They will send in short introductory notes about themselves and hopefully a list of possible uses for the newsgroup in a few days to start the ball rolling. They might possibly want to make some comments about the recent conference too. Bulletins can be posted to any of the following addresses: North America: genomic-organization@net.bio.net gene-org@net.bio.net Scandanavia: genomic-organization@bmc.uu.se U.K.: gene-org@uk.ac.daresbury Ireland: gene-org@irlearn.ucd.ie Readers in countries not listed should use the closest accessible address above. Requests for subscriptions to the newsgroup should be sent to biosci@xxxx where xxxx is any of the above computer host names. The newsgroup is also available on USENET as bionet.molbio.gene-org. Please send requests for USENET access to biosci@net.bio.net. Sincerely, Dave Kristofferson BIONET Resource Manager kristoff@net.bio.net or kristofferson@bionet-20.bio.net
