Dear netter, Two months ago I announced a competition of neural networks and genetic algorithms. A lot of people reacted, and I have to apologize for the delay. C++ and memory management took longer than I expected. The total amount of code is about 1MB. Compressed it still takes about 600 KB. Because of this I can't send it over the net and we don't have FTP. The only way out is mail. Below follow some questions people asked and the answers. 1. Deadline: 01-01-1992 2. Sources: Will be sent to serious competitors after the deadline is expired to their email address 3. Language: Only Turbo C++ on MS-DOS machines 4. Newsgroup: comp.ai.neural-nets for intermediate results 5. Email networks to: nollie@rivm.nl 6. Your email: Should always be provided for announcing results 7. How to obtain: Send a self addressed enveloppe, a formatted 1.44" floppy disk and $3 for return mail, to: RIVM, afdeling ISC Arnold Reinders Postbus 1 3720 BA Bilthoven The Netherlands Allow for about two weeks to receive your mail. Please follow the guidelines for obtaining the world. I am afraid I won't be able to reply each deviating mail. Each network that is sent to me will be broadcast over the net, intermediate results as well. I would like to see a lively debate why some networks are better than others. Those who have their own development kit can test the networks themselves. I hope I have provided enough information. Thanks again for your interest.
