Does anyone know of a database cataloging nuclear transcription factor binding sequences in cloned DNAs? Specifically, I am interested in finding a comprehensive listing of DNA motifs known to interact with mammalian transcription factors. It would be ideal if the database were accessible by ftp or e-mail. Thanks for any help you can offer. -- Don Roufa E-Mail: DROUFA@MATT.KSU.KSU.EDU // | / /--- | | Division of Biology DROUFA@KSUVM.KSU.EDU // |/ |__ | | Kansas State Univ. One is the Eukaryotic Promoter Database (EPD) and the other is the the Transcription Factor Database (TFD). You can get info on these by mailing the following to the server at EMBL: Address: netserve@embl.bitnet content of mail message: DIR TFD DIR EPD HELP TFD HELP EPD The EMBL server will then mail you files on how to get and use the files. I believe that these files can also be obtained at one of the following FTP sites: NCBI.NLM.NIH.GOV MENUDO.UH.EDU IUBIO.BIO.INDIANA.EDU Best regards, Don Lehn
