          The session organizers under the auspices of IEEE invite submission
          of paper for a session on  _F_u_n_c_t_i_o_n_a_l _P_r_o_g_r_a_m_m_i_n_g _L_a_n_g_u_a_g_e_s: _T_h_e_o_r_y
          _a_n_d _A_p_p_l_i_c_a_t_i_o_n_s .  The objective of this session is to address
          both the theoretical and practical aspects of functional languages
          and their applications.  Topics of interest include, but not
          limited to, the following:


            a.  LINGUISTIC ASPECTS OF FUNCTIONAL LANGUAGES:

                  i.    _L_a_n_g_u_a_g_e _d_e_s_i_g_n _i_s_s_u_e_s _i_n_c_l_u_d_i_n_g _e_x_t_e_n_s_i_o_n_s _t_o
                      _m_o_d_u_l_e_s _a_n_d _p_a_r_a_l_l_e_l_i_s_m

                 ii.    _F_o_r_m_a_l _s_e_m_a_n_t_i_c _f_o_u_n_d_a_t_i_o_n_s _a_n_d _S_t_r_i_c_t_n_e_s_s _a_n_a_l_y_s_i_s

                iii.    _I_m_p_l_e_m_e_n_t_a_t_i_o_n _i_s_s_u_e_s: _O_p_t_i_m_i_z_a_t_i_o_n, _E_v_a_l_u_a_t_i_o_n
                      _s_t_r_a_t_e_g_i_e_s, _P_a_r_a_l_l_e_l _a_r_c_h_i_t_e_c_t_u_r_e_s

                iii.    _A_p_p_l_i_c_a_t_i_o_n_s: _C_o_m_p_u_t_e_r _G_r_a_p_h_i_c_s, _H_a_r_d_w_a_r_e
                      _s_p_e_c_i_f_i_c_a_t_i_o_n _a_n_d _v_e_r_i_f_i_c_a_t_i_o_n, _e_t_c.

          Prospective authors should submit two copies of an eeeexxxxtttteeeennnnddddeeeedddd
          aaaabbbbssssttttrrrraaaacccctttt (not exceeding 5 pages, double spaced) of their paper to
          either of the organizers by MMMMaaaarrrrcccchhhh 33331111,,,, 1111999988889999.  (If copying facilities
          are not available one copy will do.)  Authors will be notified of
          acceptance or rejection by MMMMaaaayyyy 11115555,,,, 1111999988889999.  Photo_ready copy of the
          complete paper (not exceeding 12 pages double spaced must be
          received by JJJJuuuullllyyyy 11115555,,,, 1111999988889999 for inclusion in the proceedings.
          Proceedings will be published by IEEE and will be distributed at
          the symposium.
