***************************************************** ALL REACTIONS ONLY TO NEWS.GROUPS!!!!! ***************************************************** CALL FOR DISCUSSION ON CREATING COMP.INFORMATIONSYSTEMS The field of INFORMATION SYSTEMS at the moment does not have it's own forum for discussion. Not only is it missing on USENET, also on other networks an area for discussions and exchange on topics like design of information systems, decision support systems, organizational impact of information systems, support tools for designing information systems, research methods in information systems, information planning, etc. is lacking. After consulting Henk Sol, Ralph Sprague and Gordon Davis and several other researchers in the field of IS we have come to the conclusion that we should try to create such a discussion area. In our view this discussion area should be COMP.INFORMATIONSYSTEMS. It should be part of the COMP tree, because we are talking about computerized information systems. In our view the area should be MODERATED, in order to be able to filter out the postings that have nothing to do with information systems. Moderation means just filtering, appropriate postings will appear unchanged. Moderation will be performed by Alexander Verbraeck and Folkert W. Wierda at Delft University of Technology, Department of Information Systems. This discussion on creating COMP.INFORMATIONSYSTEMS starts at July 7, and will continue till August 6. At that same day a call for votes will be posted, that continues till September 6. Please remember that all contributions to this discussion should be posted to news.groups. For any further questions and suggestions about the proposed newsgroup it is also possible to contact us by E-mail. ------------------------------------------------------ Alexander Verbraeck winfave@hdetud1.bitnet winfave@dutrun.uucp Folkert W.
