That's good. For those of us with limited nameservers, could you post the Internet address in numeric form, please?

As of yet, there is no numeric addresses. 'ieeefs.ieee.org' uses a UUCP connection to get mail and News from the Nameserver. One of the machines at Rutgers is performing that function for us in the interim. In a few months, our 56kb line to JvNC will be installed and we will be able to re-locate the Nameserver to the Piscataway Service Center. I would hope that we will be able to set up some anonymous ftp service at that time also. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Burt Juda - IEEE - RAB - Field Services - E-mail Support Internet: burt@ieeefs.ieee.org UUCP: ...!rutgers!njin!ieeefs!burt juda@pilot.njin.net BITNET: JUDA@NJIN COMPMAIL: B.JUDA FidoNet: 1:107/310 FAX: 1-201-981-0027 TELEX: 833233 Voice: 1-201-562-5510 (9-4,M-F) Modem (BBS): 1-201-981-9190 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Actually, given that nslookup says: ieeefs.ieee.org preference = 20, mail exchanger = pilot.njin.net pilot.njin.net inet address = 128.6.7.38 pilot.njin.net inet address = 128.6.18.38 What you could use is something like joe%ieeefs.ieee.org@128.6.7.38 or similar. But your sendmail may choke on a numeric address. -- A host is a host & from coast to coast...wb8foz@mthvax.cs.miami.edu no one will talk to a host that's close..............(305) 255-RTFM Unless the host (that isn't close)......................pob 570-335 is busy, hung or dead....................................33257-0335

But your sendmail may choke on a numeric address. Yes, most versions of sendmail will choke on the numeric addresses. 'ieeefs.ieee.org' has *only* UUCP links at the present time. Note that both the MX records (via your 'nslookup') and the map for 'ieeefs' show that it connects *only* to pilot.njin.net at the present time. This will, however, change when the 56k link to the Internet is installed here in the Piscataway Service Center in a few months. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Burt Juda - IEEE - RAB - Field Services - E-mail Support Internet: burt@ieeefs.ieee.org UUCP: ...!rutgers!njin!ieeefs!burt juda@pilot.njin.net BITNET: JUDA@NJIN COMPMAIL: B.JUDA FidoNet: 1:107/310 FAX: 1-201-981-0027 TELEX: 833233 Voice: 1-201-562-5510 (9-4,M-F) Modem (BBS): 1-201-981-9190 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
