I'm currently researching and developing a plan to allow for standards management and integration within a specific segment of the federal government. I believe the NIST is currently working a similar but possibly higher level Standards Management Guide to be released sometime in the next several months. I'd like to map the plan into the NIST work, but the due date of the task probably precedes the publication date by NIST. A plan could be devised as more a reference model for management of nearly anything, but that is not best for this task. If I were able to look at other similar work providing some bibliographical references and general approaches, the plan would benefit from previous experiences and avoid known pitfalls. If anyone can provide pointers to similar work currently in place/published the help would be greatly appreciated.
