CALL FOR PAPERS & PARTICIPATION MICRO 24 THE TWENTY-FOURTH ACM/IEEE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM AND WORKSHOP ON MICROARCHITECTURE Albuquerque, New Mexico November 18-20, 1991 in cooperation with Supercomputing '91 Sponsored by: ACM Special Interest Group on Microprogramming IEEE COMPUTER SOCIETY Technical Committees on Microprogramming and Microarchitecture Since 1967, when the first meeting of this series was held, micro-n has been an important forum for presentation of research in different aspects of computer microarchitecture. The three day program includes a keynote speech by Josh Fisher, the VLIW pioneer; regular paper presentations, panel discussions and informal working group discussions. In 1991 the symposium will be held in Albuquerque to allow participation in Supercomputing '91. The topics of interest include all aspects of microarchitecture and microprogramming. The following is a partial list. Architectures for Fine-Grain Parallelism Instruction Scheduling and Optimization Application Specific Architectures High Level Synthesis Architectural Performance Analysis Static and Dynamic Instruction Issue Mechanisms Testable Microarchitectures Reconfigurable Microarchitectures Microcode Compilation and Retargetability Tools for Microcode Analysis and Synthesis Implementation Tradeoffs: Hardware, Software and Firmware Legal Aspects of Microcode Proposals for special sessions (tutorials, panel discussions and working group discussions) should be sent to the General Chair. The deadline for submission of papers is June 16, 1991. Four copies of the original manuscript, not exceeding 5000 words, should be sent to the Program Chair in your geographical area.
