[net.auto] Plymouth Arrow

swc@cbscc.UUCP (Scott W. Collins) (07/06/84)

My '78 Arrow has a very unstable rear end. The leaf spring construction
seems to be weak and the symptoms include rear-end hop, bottoming out,
and an all around poor ride.

According to the Consumer Reports for the model and year, it had poor rear
suspension to begin with. I am considering having the leaf springs re-arched and
an extra leaf added to each spring. I've already tried new (heavy duty) shocks
with just some noticeable results.

Question is, is my line of thought above the thing to do? Any suggestions
about this problem in general or specifically for my car? I have a friend
here at work that has the same car and problem.

I wouldn't mind direct mail to: ihnp4!cbscc!swc but if you think others
would care to hear solutions, post to the net.

Thanks from the bottom of my bottom.
