IEE Colloquium on Applications of Object-Oriented Programming Contributions are invited for a colloquium to be held at the Institute of Electrical Engineers, Savoy Place, London, England, on 16 November 1989. The programme is intended to cover all aspects of OOP, but with preference being given to papers describing engineering applications. The target audience consists of people who are considering OOP for a new project, or who are current users of OOP and are looking to widen their horizons. Subject areas could include: OOP techniques Languages Development methods Applications OOP for embedded systems OOP for user interfaces There is also scope for a tutorial paper to be presented at the start of the colloquium. This would serve as an introduction for those not yet familiar with OOP. Further tutorial papers describing the main features of individual languages might also be considered. Synopses should be sent to the organiser (address below) by the end of August 1989. When the programme is finalised, the synopses will be printed for distribution to those attending the colloquium. Synopses should fit onto two or three sides of A4 paper when typeset (including any diagrams). This allows for about 1500 words. Synopses can be accepted by e-mail (preferable) in troff -ms form or in plain text. If you have to send paper, please use a clear fixed-width typewriter font such as Courier and double-space the lines to improve the chances of OCR equipment making a good translation.
