Another [law suit based] reason to squelch anti-lock brakes: no pretty black marks on the street for the investigators to measure. Collision mechanics would take a new twist ... computer simulation ... but who would like to have a computer testify against them. I believe the German police opposed anti-lock brakes for that very reason.
