FOURTH INTERNATIONAL EIFFEL USER CONFERENCE

Call for participation and registration form

The Fourth International Conference of the Eiffel user will be held in New
Orleans (Louisiana) on October 1, just prior to the 1989 OOPSLA
(Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages and Applications)
conference.

During the meeting steps will be taken to formalize the creation of a
North American user group. Anyone interested in taking part in the
organization of the User Group should contact us.

The conference will proceed all day, from 9am to 6pm, followed by a reception.

The morning will be devoted to user presentations and the afternoon to
demonstrations and panel discussions.
Representatives of Interactive Software Engineering
will give a preview of future developments of Eiffel technology.

The conference is open to Eiffel users and to anyone maintaining a serious
interest in Eiffel.
Participants are invited to submit
contributions on Eiffel-related topics; contributions may be in the form of technical
presentations, demonstrations, or proposals for working groups or panels.
Authors of accepted contributions will receive a \fRdiscount\fR on the registration fee.

Technical presentations may be submitted as either complete papers or one-page
abstracts.
Examples include:

Reports on experiences with Eiffel.

Description of current or future projects.

Presentations of reusable components written in Eiffel.

Role of Eiffel for teaching software engineering and computer science.

Reports of ongoing or incomplete
work are acceptable.
Presentations may be made in either English or French.

Demonstrations of software written in Eiffel may also be submitted.
Workstations will be available.

Possible topics for working groups or panels are:

Procedures for sharing reusable classes between users.

Language standardization.

Using Eiffel for teaching.

User views on the evolution of the language, tools and library.

User Group Activities.
