[comp.lang.eiffel] Lack of Eiffel discussion and ISE input

weiner@novavax.UUCP (Bob Weiner) (01/11/90)

Note the careful avoidance of any pertinent discussion of Eiffel in
recent articles. I think this points to the fact that there is only a
small base of NETNEWS readers who use Eiffel and hence can answer
questions rather than simply posing them.

ISE, the producers of the only available Eiffel toolset today, should
have the answers. It is a mistake in my mind for them not to diligently
answer all reasonable net inquiries in a short period of time since many
are surely by past and potential customers. By not using the valuable
resource of a newsgroup to answer user queries on a technology that is
not widely known, the market will probably remain small.

ISE does publish a good deal of material in this newsgroup but that does
not compensate for the sporadic answers that they provide, which
probably depend on the travel schedules of key technical personnel.
This note is simply to point out the fact that those interested in
promoting Eiffel should make question answering a key part of their
business at this point.
