We are running Eiffel V2.2 on a HP9000 840 , our directory structure mirrors that of option 3 as described in "Eiffel the Environment." We are having a problem with users actually owning files in the library subdirectory after they have done a compilation. An example is the following in the library/kernel/std_files.E diretory. Eiffel is a YP login. total 214 -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 19411 Apr 10 12:53 .C -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 4 Apr 10 12:53 .D -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 2738 Apr 10 12:53 .F -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 15574 Mar 8 19:16 .L -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 75 Apr 10 12:53 .M -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 46 Apr 10 12:50 .P -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 769 Apr 10 12:53 .R -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 278 Apr 10 12:53 .S -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 1 Mar 2 12:19 .Y -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 1 Mar 2 12:19 .Z -rw-rw-rw- 1 3017 students 26144 Apr 10 13:29 C1.o * -rw-rw-rw- 1 Eiffel service 36816 Mar 22 10:19 C2.o Sometimes depending on their umask the files are unaccesible to others. Has anyone experienced similar problems and could point us in the right direction ? Is their any known way to avoid this other than by playing with ACL's or something similar? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
