[comp.lang.eiffel] Interactive Software status report

roxier@eiffel.UUCP (Roxie Rochat) (06/30/90)

Officials now predict that Santa Barbara's Paint Fire, which an
arsonist started two days ago, will be contained tomorrow. After having
now destroyed more than 400 homes, the fire is now burning in the back
country north of the city. The offices and employees of Interactive
Software are safe. The fire got within 1/4 mile of the homes of some
of our employees and within 4 miles of our offices.

We've had a lot of hardware problems due to the 109 degree
temperatures, high winds, and power surges. All machines, including
the fax, have been unplugged the last two nights.

So far we have no confirmed reports of communications problems due to
the fire, but if you've tried to call and found the circuits busy or
have sent email to eiffel@eiffel.com or queries@eiffel.com and don't
receive an acknowledgement shortly, please execute the Retry
instruction.
