SIXTH INTERNATIONAL EIFFEL USER CONFERENCE

Call for participation and registration form
The sixth Eiffel Users Conference will reflect the growth of the Eiffel
family, which now encompasses Scandinavia, Australia, Italy, France,
Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Mexico,
Canada and the United States. Apart from industrial organizations,
Eiffel is also being utilized by a rapidly growing number of
universities around the world for the teaching of software
engineering.
As with the five past conferences, the October 1990 meeting will
provide a forum for users to share experiences past conferences and to
interact with implementors.
An added attraction of the sixth conference is the emerging
availability of third-party Eiffel tools and libraries of reusable
classes.
The conference will be held in Ottawa, Ontario, on October 23, 1990
during the week of OOPSLA / ECOOP '90. The venue of the conference is
the meeting room at Chateau Laurier, located at 1 Rideau, Ottawa,
Ontario K1N 8S7, tel. (613)232-6411. The conference will proceed
half-day, from 1pm to 5:30pm, followed by a reception.
The meeting will be devoted to user presentations and and panel
discussions. Representatives of Interactive Software Engineering will
give a preview of future developments of their implementation and
tools.
The conference is open to Eiffel users and to anyone maintaining a
serious interest in Eiffel. Participants are invited to submit
contributions on Eiffel-related topics; contributions may be in the
form of technical presentations, or proposals for working groups or
panels. Authors of accepted contributions will attend the meeting free
of charge.
Technical presentations may be submitted as either complete papers or one-page
abstracts.
Examples include:
*Presentations of reusable components written in Eiffel.
*Reports on experiences with Eiffel.
*Description of current or future projects.
*Role of Eiffel for teaching software engineering and computer science.
Abstracts, including those for incomplete or ongoing work are acceptable.
Presentations should be made in English.
*Possible topics for working groups or panels are:
*Procedures for sharing reusable classes between users.
*Language standardization.
*Using Eiffel for teaching.
*User views on the evolution of the language, tools and
library.
*User Group Activities.

All prospective participants, whether or not they wish to

The form should be mailed as soon as possible to ensure space
in the conference.
The meeting is free to users with current Eiffel licenses and authors
of accepted papers. The cost is US$ 100 for all other attendees.
The fee includes conference material, and the evening reception.
Practical information (schedule etc.) will be mailed to registered
participants.
