[comp.lang.eiffel] tgrind claification

fcaggian@kepler.com (Frank Caggiano) (09/18/90)

It sems I should have explained what tgrind was in my last posting.

Tgrind, is the TeX version of vgrind. Now you are either saying
"ah, yes" or else you are saying "this guy thinks he's funny". If the
formmer, have a nice day, if the later read on.

Vgrind is a pretty printer for languages. The languages it knows about
are described in a file vgrind.src in /usr/lib. There is a man entry
for vgrind. Vgrind outputs troff code.

The description file looks like most other UNIX config files, termcap,
gettytab, printcap, etc. While the eiffel entry would work with
vgrind there may be problems with it dummping core on .e files of
moderate size.

Tgrind comes with TeX and is in the public domain. If you have TeX
running on your site tgrind should be there also, if not ask whomever
installed TeX about it. If she doesn't know about TeX tell her to look
in the contrib directory (I forget the exact location but it's not
difficult to find).

Hope this clears up the confusion and thanks to the people whom let me
know that my postings were once again making it out into the great wide world.

				Frank
