You were lucky that your policeman was allowed to help you get into the car. At the University of South Carolina, the campus police no longer offer such services. Not only that, but they are not allowed to help you jump-start your car when your battery has died!!! This is a real pain for forgetful students running to exams, midterms, and classes that started 10 minutes age...who left their lights on, or car keys in the ignition. The policewoman who told me this said it was because the locksmith complained that he was losing money. That's a horrible excuse for a *service organization* not performing much needed services!!!
