Now that I've got the Rabbit fixed, I've got a problem with my 1979 MonteCarlo with a Chevy 267 V8. It's always stalled as soon as putting int in reverse, but then ran okay. Recentlety, it starts, stalls, must be started several timees . before it will keep running. I repleaced the PCV valve, air cleasner, sprayed the choke. Is there a pollution control part that could be replaced that could fix this? Carburetor out of adjustment? It has about 33000 ,miles on it. Larry Langerholc iwu1b!llserv

If your stalling Monte Carlo also idles too slow in general (since the problem started), you might consider checking the PCV valve HOSE. This can get so gummed up that replacing the valve doesn't cure anything. I had the same condition in a '79 Buick (V-6, though) Bob Schleicher ihuxk!rs55611
