EIGHTH INTERNATIONAL EIFFEL USER CONFERENCE
CNIT, PARIS, LA DEFENSE

Call for participation and registration form
The eighth International Eiffel User Conference will be held in Paris
during the week of TOOLS'91 (Technology of Object-Oriented Languages
and Systems) on March 4-8.
As with the past seven conferences, the March 1991 meeting will
provide a forum for users to share experiences and interact with
implementors.
The conference will be held in Paris, France, on March 8. The venue
is the CNIT, La De'fense, Azorin room. The conference will proceed
from 9am to 5:00pm, followed by a reception. (The Nonprofit
International Consortium for Eiffel will meet from 6 to 9 at the same
place; for any information on the Consortium meeting, which is open
to Consortium members only, please contact darcyh@eiffel.com.)
The meeting will be devoted to user presentations and panel
discussions. Representatives of Interactive Software Engineering
will give a preview of future developments of their implementation
and tools.
The conference is open to Eiffel users and to anyone maintaining a
serious interest in Eiffel. Participants are invited to submit
contributions on Eiffel-related topics; contributions may be in the
form of technical presentations, or proposals for working groups or
panels. Authors of accepted contributions will attend the meeting
free of charge.
Technical presentations may be submitted as either complete papers or
one-page abstracts. Examples include:
+ Reports on experiences with Eiffel.
+ Description of current or future projects.
+ Interfaces with other tools and systems (graphics packages,
database management systems, expert systems, etc.).
+ Presentations of reusable components written in Eiffel.
+ Role of Eiffel for teaching software engineering and computer
science.
Abstracts, including those for incomplete or ongoing work, are
acceptable. Presentations should be made in English.
Possible topics for working groups or panels are:
+ Procedures for sharing reusable classes between users.
+ Language standardization.
+ Using Eiffel for teaching.
+ User views on the evolution of the language, tools and
library.
+ User Group Activities.

Registration and submissions
All prospective participants, whether or not they wish to submit a
presentation, should return the form below to one of the two
addresses above, attention Eiffel User Conference.
Please use one copy of the form per participant. The form should be
mailed as soon as possible to ensure space in the conference. It
should be accompanied by the registration fee of FF 250 or US$ 50 for
Eiffel users with an up-to-date maintenance contract, FF 900 or US$
180 for others. The fee includes conference material, lunch and the
evening reception. Any proceeds from the registration fee will be
transferred to the Eiffel User Group. Practical information
(schedule etc.) will be mailed to registered participants.
