This is a moderated bulletin board for use by ACM's SIGPLAN. It is particularly intended for posting of calls-for-papers and conference-announcements. Usually conferences here posted are (co-)sponsored by SIGPLAN or in cooperation with SIGPLAN. Other official notices may be posted at the discretion of the officers. All current postings will be archived and available by anonymous FTP at iuvax.indiana.edu in directory ~ftp/pub/SIGPLAN. Reading this is no substitute for reading _SIGPLAN_Notices_ regularly. Do part with your $22 and join SIGPLAN. _SIGPLAN_Notices_ publishes monthly, including many conference proceedings, totaling something like two kilopages per annum. (I have seen people pay that much over the counter for one issue!) Of course this is the ACM members' price; so do join ACM, as well. I shall moderate this group for the duration of my term as Vice Chairman of SIGPLAN. My successor as moderator will likely be the next Vice Chairman. Send proposed postings to sigplan@iuvax.indiana.edu and private comments to sigplan-request@iuvax.indiana.edu . A warning: The *fastest* way to get SIGPLAN announcements is to join SIGPLAN and be included on the Snail Mail mailing list. Postings here will usually be delayed until Snail Mail has reached our paid membership. In cases where mechanical failure has delayed one of these mailed announcements, however, we shall immediately post here to ameliorate those delays. So both members and nonmembers can benefit from regularly reading comp.lang.sigplan . A final note: I wish that this group were called org.acm.sigplan , analogous to an author-citation in a library catalog. s/ David S.
