[bionet.technology.conversion] IAWPRC goes electronic

P2269@com.qz.se ("ENG-LEONG FOO ", MIRCEN-STOCKHOLM) (03/17/89)

IAWPRC (INternational Association on Water Pollution Research
and Control) is now considering a computer conference for electronic
communication within IAWPRC. IAWPRC has a specialist group on
Computing; investigation will be made to see if the computing
activities could include specialist databases containing information
on various aspects of IAWPRC activities, electronic publications,
bulletin boards and wider aspects of computer conferencing.

Comment from Foo:
I am glad to see that IAWPRC has now taken up these actions and
I hope that ADM and BIOCONVERSION would be able to participate
in their programs too.

Is there anyone here who have direct relationships with IAWPRC??

I am glad to hear that IAWPRC goes electronic.
I am a member of this association as well as of
the managing committee of its specialist group
on anaerobic digestion. It would be very interesting
to link group's activities with networking.

Hi Prof. Josep Paris - glad to hear from you again and it is
definitely useful to know that you are a member of the managing
committee of IAWPRC's Specialist Group on anaerobic digestion.

Prof. Poul Harremoes (chairman of IAWRC) has been a strong motivator
behind this new electronic networking in IAWPRC (info from a
news item). I believe that he can be reached via EARN.

Do you know if there has been any discussions for electronic
activities on AD in IAWPRC ?
My interest as the moderator for ADM and also as one of the moderators
for Bioconversion, is to try to establish a working relationship
with IAWPRC's electronic activities. An immediate step for action
from IAWPRC is to put some of their news items from "Water Quality
International" into ADM and Bioconversion. Their news items are
general short (2 or 3 paragraphs only) and these are suitable
also as electronic news items.
Could you investigate from your contacts at IAWPRC if this could
be arranged ? Thanks Josep.
Best regards, Eng-leong Foo (MIRCEN-Stockholm, Sweden)
