Russian scientists have been investigating on the extraction of gases that are produced from the bottom of the Black Sea. Reserves of these gases (methane, ethane, ammonia, H2S) are estimated to be 7600 tonnes and could produce 80 billion Kwh electricity per year. A new pumping system which can extract the gases economically, could be installed at power stations and factories situated on the shores of the Black Sea.
