Hello composters. While it appears that the majority of the focus
of this conference is placed on sludge and municipal composting, I
would be interested in discussing the more "garden-variety"
(pardon the pun) of backyard composting applications. In
particular, if anyone h as leads on studies done concerning the
presence of herbicidal residues in yard wastes being an issue in
the use of compost on food crops. Also, it would seem there is
much said on the development of markets for composted
materials...are there any studies
/info on applications in the realm of community development and
environmental rehabilitation (community gardens, erosion control,
etc.)?

Thank you for your message, gainer!

(Could you please use shorter lines: the normal line width is somewhere
in 75 characters, when you had 79+48 = 127)

These matters have been discussed in the journal BioCycle, published by
Rodale Press (Emmaus, PA) and collected to a new book named "Composting
of Yard wastes" or something like it.
