I'm having a problem with broadcast messages on my SUN3 which I think was discussed here previsly. While running under X11R3 and SUN O/S/S 4.0.3, broadcast messages such as system shutdown messages, etc., appear across my entire screen, playing havoc with all the windows I've set up. Until now, I was using both the color (cgfour0) and black and white screens on my terminal. It wasn't too much bother to drag the cursor from the color to the black and white screen and then back to the color screen. That wiped out the broadcast message that had originally appeared while I was using the color screen. Well, I got tired of my screen switching from color to black and white whenever I accidentally got the cursor too close to the edge of the screen, so I'm now using the -dev cgfour0 option so that my SUN has only the color screen working. I much prefer this, but now there's no easy way to get rid of the broadcast messages when they appear. I saved a patch to wall.c that someone previously posted to this newsgroup. Will that solve the problem? Unfortunately, I can't find wall.c on our system so that I can apply the patch! Where is it?
