I'm trying to figure out how to do a nice widget for a window-based source language debugger, preferably based on (or related to) the motif widgets. I'd like to have the source code in a standard text window, except with special symbols (a stop sign, an arrow for the PC, and maybe some special ones) in extra columns on the left side. I'd like to be able to select the special chars as if they were buttons, to examine a breakpoint for instance. I've played with doing this by using a scrolled text widget, and using the scroll callback to scroll separate list widgets for each column of special chars, but I've been having a hard time getting this to work. In any case, it seems like a new widget might be the right way to do this. Has anyone figured out a good way to do this? Thanks. -- Jerry Fiddler Wind River Systems jerry@wrs.COM uunet!wrs!jerry
