nailed about 1 1/2 years ago doing 84 in a 55 by aircraft. That's not the good news, this is. When I was in court and talking to various officers of the law it became apparent that they don't stop everybody over 55. If they're out buzing around the skies they'll only bother you if you're doing over 70. If they set up a radar trap on the ground they usually only stop those over 65. This way when they bring cases to court there is a better chance of them sticking. A radar reading of 56 in a 55 will not hold up in NH, but 65 and above probably will stick. With this information I have adopted new driving techniques. On a bright sunny day keep the speed between 65 and 70 and watch out for the white lines on the side of the road, that's how they time you. Keep the ESCORT on the Highway setting at all times. When the aircraft is out there is no safety in numbers. They'll pull over a train of 5 cars if they want to. My car is now fully equipped for night driving, 500 watts of driving lights to see where I'm going and 100 to see where I've been. They don't use the planes at night. To sum it all up, keep it below 65 without a radar detector, 70 with one. Do all your fast driving at night, but be prepared to pay if you get caught.
