[gnu.ghostscript.bug] Problems building Ghostscript on XT

ghost@SUN.COM (L. Peter Deutsch) (03/22/89)

Trappio,

The "warning: undefined structure" messages are an artifact of the way
I get around C's lack of data abstraction. You get them whether or not
you use a RAMdisk.

Ghostscript addresses the EGA frame buffer and controller registers
directly. I've never read any of the VGA documentation, so I don't know
how compatible they are. If you want to pursue this question, you might
try reading the code for GDEVEGAD.C, specifically the macro and parameter
definitions near the beginning of the file that deal with the register and
I/O port numbers and the base address of the frame buffer.

Has anyone else run Ghostscript on a VGA system?
