I have a 1984 Toyota Tercel with a windshield that "fogs up" alot. This is not your garden variety "fog", more like a thick coat of cigarette smoke. No combination of the defrost/vent warm/cool controls will get rid of it; you have to clean the windshield with paper towels and glass cleaner. In fact, the defroster seems to make it worse. Has anyone (especially Tercel owners) had this problem? I don't smell any anti-freeze (someone suggested a leaky heater core) and no one smokes cigarettes in the car. Any suggestions??? Thanks C. R. Cars with vinyl seats (or seats made partially of vinyl) tend to accumulate crud on the insides of the windows. I forget what the stuff is, but it leaks out of the vinyl. The only solution of which I am aware is to clean the windows. The amount of leakage will decrease as the car gets older.
