I have a cruise control that I purchased for JC Whitney for $39.95. It senses engine speed from a connection to the distributer, rather than driveshaft speed. I received a letter from Whitney asking me to send it back since this model has a potential for sticking. They will either exchange it or give me a refund. The question is: What are your thoughts as to the advantage/disadvantage of a distributer-sense vs driveshaft sense? I'm aware that the distributer-sense type will allow you to set a high-idle if desired and is easier to install. The driveshaft type will allow you to shift without racing the engine or resetting for a different gear. Are there any other thoughts that I'm not aware of? Suggestions? Thanks, Bob
