(True fact from the Sept 28 issue of the New York Review of Books)

There are many important historical symbols and icons located in the area
of Tiananmen square in China, e.g., Mao's mausoleum, Mao's massive portrait,
and the Forbidden City. In addition, every October four large black and
white portraits of the revolutionary heroes - Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin
- are temporarily displayed. Some Western journalists refer to this quartet
of paintings as "The History of Shaving".
