[rec.humor.funny] 89 Jokebooks have arrived, will visit UW Campus this Wednesday

funny@looking.on.ca (Funny Guy) (11/27/89)

The first batch of 1989 jokebooks -- containing the famous "DELETED ON REQUEST"
jokes that Doug Wright has 'asked' me not to transmit to UW computers -- has
arrived.

For those of you in Toronto, we have shipped some to the University of
Toronto bookstore, and they should be on sale mid-week. (Only '89s were
ordered, so far.) (Toronto people can stop reading now.)

For unknown reasons, the UW bookstore keeps expressing enthusiastic
disinterest. (Very odd for a non-textbook that sold over 50 copies on campus
last year.)

A new batch arrives Wednesday, and I will be visiting the offices of
the Computer Science Club (MC3037) Wednesday afternoon, from around 3
pm onwards. Drop by to say hi and look at the book. Of course, it wouldn't
hurt me if you bought some. :-) Prices are $11.50 (89) and $13 (88).
If nothing else, show your support for freedom to read.

Books say "Banned at Stanford and the U. of Waterloo" on the cover.
Makes an ideal Christmas Gift.

Otherwise, books will be available afterwards at PC Factory, the computer
store next to Reuben & Wong's in the University shops plaze next to
engineering. Some are also available at J.J.& Jester's in Waterloo
Square, and of course, at my offices at 124 King St. N. (Corner of
King and Elgin/Central Streets, just north of K.F.Chicken.)

Thanks to P.C. Factory, BTW, which has offered to do this at cost in
support of freedom to read.

Note that the CSC is not officially sponsoring this event. It's just
a visit by one of the club's better known alumni.

I will bring lots of '89s and some '88 books. If you want an 88 book,
reply to this message (mail to jokebook@looking.on.ca) to make sure I
bring enough.

to the group because they don't like all the censored messages.]
