I have just finished reading an article in a magazine about the filming of the commercials for the 1985 Mustang. In addition to filming some 30 second comercials, they also filmed a 3 minute video for MTV and FRIDAY NIGHT VIDEO. The article then went on to describe the 1985 Mustang GT. For the first time in 12 years the Mustang will have true dual exhaust and the horsepower has been upped to 210. The front grill is different from the '83-'84 versions but otherwise the body remains unchanged. Another unusual feature for 1985, will be the use of plastic wheels instead of the usual steel or aluminum that was used for 1984. I was also told by a co-worker that the 1985 SVO will employ a 16 valve 4 cylinder that puts out somewhere in the are of 250 to 280 horsepower. These should be the best Mustangs that Ford has come up with since 1973. Another thing that might interest you is the addition to the 1984 Mustang lineup is the Mustang GT convertible. I just saw one recently and it sure is a nice looking car. I bet you will never see a 1984 Z28 convertible or even any post-1969 Z28 convertible for that matter. Enough of my rambling. Just remember; if you want real performance, buy a 60's musclecar. P Kelliher AT&T-ISL S Plainfield, NJ
