I believe that I saw this or a similar problem in this group in the not too distant past. If anyone recalls, or knows what my problem is, please respond via mail. Sorry if this IS a repeat. The problem: My car runs peculiarly (sort of like someone depressing and releasing the brakes intermittently except that the effect is on the engine itself), but only at specific times, and this is the key factor. It runs fine from a cold start, and continues to run fine up to normal driving temps. The symptom occurs only when starting when the engine is warm - like after sitting for several minutes to maybe an hour, after having been driven. The symptom goes away when the engine reaches normal temp. I'd like to know 1) what is causing this, and 2) what should be done about it. NOTE: This symptom is not unlike a similar problem I have in extremely wet conditions (like driving down the turnpike in a downpour). Steve Marcovici AT&T Bell Laboratories ...packard!srm
