[net.auto] Tough Automotive Paint Process Wanted

drabik@sdcc7.UUCP (drabik) (09/06/84)

I'm going to have my car painted soon. I'm looking for a process that
will hold up under the attacks of The Shopping Center Slammer, the San
Diego air, and those little rocks that come bouncing off the road.
Imron (a trademark of DuPont) is what I have on my list so far. Someone
also mentioned catalyzed acrylic enamel to me, but I've not heard much
about it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll summarize to the net.
I'm also interested in what these processes would cost, visual quality
of the finish, repairability, and so on.
