I am in the market for a new car and it seems that most of the cars that fit my needs are front wheel drive. Now, I have heard how great front wheel drive cars are, but have also heard that they lose control more easily than rear wheel, and it is difficult if not impossible to regain control. Is this nonsense or fact? And how about: 1. A blow-out (or the equivalent of differential lock) on the front. 2. Working on the engine; it seems awfully cramped under the hood. 3. How susceptible is the front end to fatal damage; with the whole drive system in one spot, and not very well protected, how serious or trivial an accident will cause mechanical damage? Also, I was surprised to see that old hump on the floor still there. This leads to another question. How hot does that hump now get since it seems that at least part of it is used for the exhaust system? Andy Rubaszek @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!andy
