I can't thank you all enough for the overwhelming response to my question about cruise control. My car is back in the garage today, so I'll let you know the outcome. I feel much more capable of dealing with the mechanic, now that I'm armed with the knowledge I've gained from the responses to my question. Thanks again! This is a very belated thank-you to everyone who wrote or called with information about cruise control. The response was certainly overwhelming, and I have taken far too long to express my thanks (my mother would be appalled). I tried to answer all of your messages, but they became too numerous to keep up with, so I hope that this note will suffice to thank everyone who took the time to contact me. I can't tell you how much I appreciated your help. Many of you asked me to let you know how things turned out. I wish that I could say the cruise control is working great now, but it isn't. It is, however, working much better now than it did when I first wrote. It has been fixed once (hoses were replaced) and adjusted once since I wrote, but I can still feel a little surging. That may be just something I'll have to live with, though, since the ride is now fairly smooth. (At least I'm not on the verge of seasickness any more.) Last week I spoke with the person who installed the unit, and I asked him to tell me how to adjust it; his answer was that there is no adjustment on it. If anyone out there has had any experience with a Specific Cruise System, Inc. unit, could you verify that for me? Again, my thanks to everyone who helped to educate me about cruise control. Your kindness will be long remembered. Linda Rockefeller DEC, Littleton, MA
