[rec.humor.funny] The final refutation

cdm@inel.gov (Dale Cook) (01/04/91)

The following anecdote was told to my wife by a fellow student
several years ago. This student was being "actively recruited"
by a well-known multi-level marketing company's representative.
Despite the potential recruit's emphatic assertion that he was
not interested in becomming a member, the recruiter was not to
be put off so easily. However, none of the arguments worked.
"Be your own boss", "Make millions in months", and "Travel to
your heart's content" fell on deaf ears. Exasperated, the
recruiter fell back on the tried and true argument:

Recruiter: What have you got to lose?

Potential recruit thinks about it a few moments, and replies:
"All my friends."
