Rec.humor.funny readers in Ontario may wish to attend a talk at UW Monday night at 7:30 p.m. by John McCarthy of Stanford University. Dr. McCarthy is the creator of the LISP language and winner of the ACM Turing Award. He lead the campaign at Stanford to reverse the ban there on rec.humor.funny in 1989. He will give two talks. At 3:30, he will speak on Elephant 2000, a new programming language of his design that interacts with the user natural-language style ways. See uw.general for the abstract. At 7:30 in Physics 145, he will speak on newsgroup banning, both at UW and Stanford. I will be present as well. See you there. -- Brad Templeton, ClariNet Communications Corp. -- Waterloo, Ontario 519/884-7473
