[net.followup] kicking out Loki?

barryg@sdcrdcf.UUCP (Lee Gold) (04/06/85)

Once Loki had spawned the Midgard Serpent, why kick him out? (Of course,
there's no point in trying to make friends with the kids. Tyr proved that
with Fenris.) May I respectfully suggest that after his daughter had been
given a place of her own, it should have been strongly suggested that she
take her two brothers down there with her. Letting Fenris run around in
the sky and Jormengandir swim around in the ocean is neither pro-ecology
nor evidence of a strong defense posture. whereas Hel seems to have not
only stayed in her own realm but quite adequate at keeping other people
there.

Given that at the Time, Heimdall and Loki wound up fighting one another,
the previous correspondent must be considered to be somewhat biased.
Of course, one doesn't expect much consistency from the son of nine
mothers.
