I found that motorcycle oil works great in my air-cooled garden tractor.
I use the Quaker State motorcycle oil.  Previously I used 10W-30 and
it would turn to a thick tar like substance which took an hour to drain
a quart from the crankcase.  The Quaker State motorcycle is stable.
