[net.music] Results of mail.katebush survey

r032@sphinx.UChicago.UUCP ( Sam Rebelsky) (08/15/85)

Well, It's been awhile since I suggested the Kate Bush mailing list,
and the I think enough "votes" are in for me to make the following
  statements:

1) MOST people feel that there is too much Kate Bush material on the
net. This includes some KB fans who feel that it turns people
	off of KB.

2) MANY people want some Kate Bush material to stay on the net, they
just don't want to deal with the long word by word analysis
and daily record release updates and such.

3) A FEW people commented on Doug Alan's refusal to use the reply
feature of both readnews and rn. (Sorry Doug).

Approx. real votes were:
Keep Kate on the Net: 4.5 votes
Create a Mailing List: 11.5 votes (including one vote of 1,032,345)

So, I am now creating a katebush mailing list. I will moderate it at first
(although I really don't want to), and if noone volunteers to take it over,
I will send a message to Chuq in two weeks announcing its creation.
I am sending a letter to the people who indicated interest in the list,
so if you don't see a letter from me within a reasonable time period,
assume that you're not on the list, and send me a request. Apoligies
for the weird stuff in the TO: field in that letter, mail -s seems to
  be having problems here.

Kate Bush fans should continue to post REASONABLE things about her to the
net (such as SHORT reviews and perhaps even a tour schedule, if/when
she decides to tour), but things of more fanatical nature (lyrical
analysis, sexual commentary, KB vs. Scruffy the Cat discussions)
should be confined to the mailing list.

I hope this works.

Don't forget to send me your topten lists.

p.s. TO: ihnp4!seismo!harvard!bbncca!bbnccv!lcliffor, I can't seem to
reply to your message, but I'll try to again. Send me a better path
  if you can.
