Just got something in the mail from CASEWORKS, maker of CASE:W, a system that is supposed to let you prototype dialog boxes, menus, etc. and generate Windows code. Anybody have experience with this package? Thanks in advance, Ken Sykes ks26+@andrew.cmu.edu

I have a copy of CASE:W under 30-day evaluation. It looks very promising, but I haven't used it very much. It was crashing all over the place, and finally I cannled them. It doesn't run on the debug kernel. Once I got back to a normal Windows kernel things went better, but I have been off on other things since then. Brief summary: CASE:W allows you to design the application, including the main window, client area, menus, and dialogs (via the normal dialog editor). The generated code has places to stick your app-specific code. If you follow the coding rules you can make changes with the tool, even after "customizing" the generated code. I look it as an "application editor", if you expand the concept of a "dialog editor". As a bonus, their follow-on prodict (still unreleased) will work with Presentation Manager, and can accept apps originally generated for Windows. As I said, it looks promising -- the idea of designing the whole app using this tool, AND having it port to PM, sounds great. I'm a skeptic, so I will have to try it before I believe it. The PM product (CASE:P?) was due out around now, I haven't heard anything though. Time permitting, I will post further notes on the product; I hope to get to it soon, as my 30 days are almost up! ------- All opinions are my personal opinions etc etc.
