Once and for all: Will post 2.03 versions of Windows (now Windows/286) operate on my 8088-based PC? I do realize it is slow, but I have heard conflicting accounts over whether it would even run. So, what's the official line? Mark

I've heard others verify this, too. In fact, I've never heard anyone actually say that Win 2.1 would not run on an 8088

So, what's the > official line? > The official line is that Windows 286 version 2.1 will run just fine on an 8086 machine. It comes on high density (1.2 meg) diskettes however so you may not be able to load it. Also, the 8514 display driver is '286 specific. Fredric Einstein
