Here are some excepts from the letter Microsoft sent me about their new pre-release ISV program: "By participating in this pre-release ISV program, you will be receiving early code release of key product components as well as advance information about key features. These materials and information will position you to take maximum advantage of these features in your product as soon as possible. Our pre-release program is comprehensive, and includes a special way to get support in your development effort. Importantly, there are some staightforward changes to your current Windows 2.1 application, especially regarding managing code segments in a more strict way than you should make now. This will not only ensure that later releases will take maximum advantage of the future versions of Windows, but also of new technologies, such as mapping layers, for enabling your Windows application(s) to execute under OS/2." "Communication early-on will guarantee the success of this release of Windows and successful Windows applications/software that your company develops. Microsoft is committed to this mutally beneficial relationship." The requirments to participate are as follows: 1. Have a Microsoft Online account. This is where all support for the pre-released information is handled. 2. Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. 3. Have your company included in the Windows Hardware and Software Directory database. Misc: -You will be given a final retail product without the documentation. -Only 5 1/4" 1.2Meg disks will be used. -Pre-released software will have only been tested on a Compag 386. I just wish that this did not require Online. I do not have enough money to afford the paltry services of Online. I think we should all ban together and get Microsoft to provide some better support both here on this net and on GENIE. enjoy -----Dale Rogerson-----
